COMMUNITY SERVICE

Sometimes we’re tested not to show our weaknesses, but to discover our strengths.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Community service is a not-for-pay activity that is performed by someone or a group of people for the benefit of the public or its institutions. Performing community service is not the same as volunteering, since it is not always performed on a voluntary basis. It may be performed for a variety of reasons:

  • High school graduation and community work
  • Colleges
  • Community service-learning
  • Court ordered service
  • Corporate social responsibility
  • Personal benefits of serving

Orientations are held at Teens Voice USA Horse Ranch on Thursdays between 5:30pm-6:30pm. Please arrive early as latecomers will not be accepted.

Community Service Requirements

Our Community Service program is provided for individuals who are completing community service for school, work, court, or a club.

Community Service opportunities are available 5 days a week, sometimes including holidays. The participants will assist employees with the daily duties at the Ranch, such as cleaning horse stalls (spreading wood shavings), maintaining and cleaning buckets, horse tack, blankets, unloading and stacking hay and feed, repairing fences, keeping grounds clean and other duties as assigned. Community Service workers do not directly work with the animals alone.

Individuals 8 years and up are eligible to participate. Participants must attend the initial orientation with a parent or legal guardian if under age. The court appointed official, participant and the parent/legal guardian must sign the release forms provided by Teen’s Voice USA Horse Ranch prior to starting community service.

If you are performing community service for a school, work or a civic organization, we ask that you provide applicable paperwork or contact information for verification. All individuals that have court-ordered community service of five (5) or more hours must provide documentation verifying the type of citation you received when you attend orientation.

Community Service Orientation: If you would like to fulfill your community service obligation with Teen’s Voice USA Horse Ranch, you must attend a community service orientation and call to set an appointment.

At Teens Voice USA I learned so much more than just riding horses. The experience of connecting with my horse helped me develop self-esteem and confidence.

Testimonials

I have learned so much at Teen Voice USA. At first it was intimidating (I had never ridden horse before). Now the horses are my best friends and the counselors my life coaches forever.
